The Lighthouse
This was something really special.
William Dafoe really exceeded any expectations. He truly goes above and beyond in a way I simply can’t put into words.
He starts out all intimidating saying “ Scrub dog scrub” and he sees that take its turn at the end so that was cool.
The setting of the lighthouse and the rock that they’re on is done perfectly in my opinion. It really shows how dreadful it is out there and how full of mystery it also is. The constant foghorn just adds to the feeling of dread Bc that shit can get annoying.
The “what” “what” scene was truly amazing and gave a transition into the best fucking scene in the movie. Dafoe curses Patterson and the fear instilled by Dafoe is daunting. With the thunder in the background you start to wonder what his story really is. But as a performance, it’s a damn near perfect monologue. Cinema.
At the end there was something beautiful about the lantern rooms full reveal. So alluring and enticing it’s really a beautiful constructed scene.
And yo, mermaid pussy?
