Wolfwalkers

Still an incredibly special and gorgeous film that I wished more people talked about. Perhaps not the best for my Grade 2/3 students (my students Grade 4 and up were much more captivated) not because the film itself is inappropriate but because of how much the story shows in more subtle and beautifully symbolic ways instead of spelling it out to you. The use of lighting, blocking and perspective switches is also so impressive especially when so many other films don't bother to do anything special in most media for children. On a rewatch I also realized just how insanely good the last act of this movie truly is. It is so good at building up tension, delievering an impactful environmental message, introducing real stakes and truly going above and beyond so many other animated films. Robyn and Mebh might genuinely be the best protagonists of any kids film. Perfect film
