Hereditary
What can I say about this movie? Well, it's really fucking good. The way Ari Aster is able to make you fear the worst without even using a jump scare is fascinating. This film is terrifying and in a way that is different from most other films I have seen. One of the things that really impresses me about Aster's work is how effective his use of violence and disturbing images works, and here it is on full display with a buildup to a batshit crazy finale. Not to mention that this film really kicked off the "elevated horror" craze that has been going on for the past couple of years. Along with all of this, the performances are absolutely perfect. This movie was terrific.
