my sincerest apologies because i really did try my best to enjoy this but it was nearly impossible. and it’s no longer may so my only excuse to try and defend this movie is now nonexistent. on top of that, not even the presence of the tagalog language being spoken was enough to salvage this film for me, and that speaks volumes.

i would need to rewatch in order to fully understand what was going on but holy shit…the animation is genuinely out of this world!! this is hands down one of the most captivating animated films i’ve ever seen, like the last half of this movie was just a fucking TRIP; just full of amazing and unique animation for a lack of better words. shiro and kuro’s dynamic is just beyond perfect too, like that’s black and white fr. they’re just two children who were dealt a shit hand just trying to find their place in the world even if it’s considered morally "wrong". one being more accustomed to that way of life and the other just trying to follow in the path of the only older figure in his life. beautiful beautiful movie (that i watched remastered in 4k btw, i must flex :P!).
