Whiplash

honestly i struggle to find any mistakes in that movie. i love how the plot is so simple, just a music student obsessed with becoming the best drummer in the jazz scene with a professor who pushes students in questionable ways. it makes you think about the limits about obsession, art and personal well-being, it’s real, the characters have bittersweet ending (and omg what an ending scene) and it’s just so real and human, simple and complex. it’s just well done and has all the elements a movie has to have. also the visual editing and soundtrack is so good and beautiful, wrapping the movie together beautifully.
