Pride & Prejudice
*“You have bewitched me, body and soul.”

I used to hate on the love of Pride and Prejudice that people had, but the story and love for it makes sense now. The slow build, love-hate relationship between the characters works. It’s a type of romance rare for it’s time, her father comments on it: their dispositions are alike. They marry not only for money and an estate, but for happiness. Someone to be stubborn with, someone who understands your reasonings for the way you may act. I get it now, guys… That scene where he walks to her in the fog… The rain scene… The way you’re dying for them to kiss by the end of it all…….
Anyway, this is one of the first steps in my Pride and Prejudice journey as I attempt to like the remix Pride I am teaching my 10th graders. I have to say, this is making it grow on me.
I like the characters, the actors chosen, the slow build of the story and characters. I haven’t watched the mini series yet, though I know many people prefer it. I’ve begun the book and will be less confused by the old English now that I’ve watched the movie. I’m now a Jane Austen fan, a Pride and Prejudice girly.
