Kurt Russell rocks in this. I found myself just uttering Hell yeah after many of his lines. Certainly can’t hate on Snake Plissken’s big fuck you to those in charge at the end, you have to respect it.

Unsurprisingly to absolutely nobody I’m a sucker for aching, impossible yearning. That opening 15 minutes is one of the most captivating starts to a film I’ve ever experienced. The raw footage of the aftermath of such a horrific and traumatic event with close up shots of two lovers intertwined really sets the tone going forward. I couldn’t help but wonder where this was going and my God was it a gut punch. Some things just aren’t meant to last and unfortunately we just have to accept that.

I had a fun time, nothing exactly groundbreaking and not every film should be. Funny and bloody what’s not to like and you know what. Good for them.

This may be one of greatest shot films I’ve ever seen and thankfully it had a story deserving of its cinematography. The ambiguity and the realism of its characters makes the tension feel so lived in. Imagine going on a ferris wheel with a friend and you find out he’s a massive dick and now ferris wheels are ruined. What an awful day.
