After Yang
WOW.
i know for a fact that i am dramatic and my tears are shallow as hell. but i did not expect to cry this much?!?! over this film. it was so so so beautiful. every shot is breathtaking, the acting is so good, and the music just ties everything together.
there's a deep-seated melancholia in the flashes of yang's memory that spoke to my soul and brought me to tears. it's so interesting to see yang's stored memory from his perspective; ranging from mundane daily events to special moments. it demanded the answer to the question: what did yang see in those moments and why were those the ones saved in his memories? would it be any different if he were human? very thought-provoking and poignant.
another brilliant piece from kogonada that'll definitely be one of my favorites!
