"I hope that when the world comes to an end, I can breathe a sigh of relief, because there will be so much to look forward to" Probably my favourite mindfuck film already, even after just watching it for the first time. It's incredibly rare for a film to keep me awake for hours, digging through every theory and interpretation I can find about it. And yet I really appreciate that the film works even without all that: even without the scientific context, it remains emotional, dark and unsettling. The fact that Jake Gyllenhaal, one of my favourite actors, delievers such an awesome performance is just the cherry on top.
