absolutely adore how the cinematographer tackles the cinemascope by framing objects —bedposts, candles, roses, etc. — in nearly every shot to divide our field of view, and build that closeness to characters on screen! the opening talks researcher butchered deborah’s name which reminded me of the adorable quote MGM used to promote her debut; *‘Deborah Kerr — it rhymes with star!’*

at first had me very scared that this would turn into the ‘gay woman falls in love with straight girl and forces herself onto her’ stereotype, but it isn’t!! so that’s good…. everything else tho… why is the main character a house.
