Himala
"Walang himala.'"
Perfection. I wasn't sure whether I would like this film to begin with because it is so astray from what I usually enjoy in terms of aesthetic. However, the incorporation of Catholicism in the Filipino culture is what drew me so close to this movie. Rather than shunning away from religion, it sought to paint it from a unique and refreshing perspective. Seeing Elsa's body carried down the crowd, still desperate for miracles had me mesmerised. The depth the characters carried was very comforting, being able to take in their guilt and sadness. I especially appreciate the eerie and evangelical feeling the music carried.
