Scream
Fantastic slasher movie that actually humanizes all of its characters, no wonder a lot of the posters for these movies contain the cast usually because unlike other horror movies them the cast of survivors are actually more important then the threat, yes some movies have final girls that become popular but we never get a consistant cast of characters in a series.
SPOILERS AHEAD
Ghost Face is a concept not a person, unlike the Jason’s And Michael’s anyone can be him, which in a way makes him more terrifying than any supernatural or towering killer, the idea that a character can exist across multiple people is quite scary, an entity that can’t die as it isn’t confined to one person. And the fact that he abides by the same rules of the survivors also somehow makes him scary, the fact that he can get injured or stopped yet keeps on fighting makes him more frightening then the stonewalls that other killers are. And the fact that he’s so agile makes him stand out from the typical slashers who menacingly walk everywhere. For a parody of the horror genre this movie does a lot of things differently.

My only issue is how Craven forced horror referential lines everywhere like we get it this is satire of the genre but show more tell less at times. The twist is also a bit obvious but maybe because i didn’t go into this totally blind.
100% worth a watch if you want a creative and fresh alternative to some of the other slasher franchises.
