Buddy and I were so high we watched the first 5 minutes of this in Japanese before realizing that maybe something was wrong w the tv

Read the manga volume for this when it came out like 5 years ago because i was a big chainsaw man fan at the time, so I remembered how this went pretty accurately. It was however just as if not even more devastating this time. This was already a beautiful story, and this adaptation looks phenomenal, has great animation, and the music is amazing. I also really enjoy all the chainsaw man references sprinkled throughout.

I wish i was like 1/10th this passionate about something man jesus. At first i really wished that this was longer and a bit slower so we could flesh out more because i was so interested in the story, but the more I sit on this as an overall experience I love how short this is and how lightning fast the pacing is. It’s symbolic of how fast all the parts Andrew’s constantly asked to learn are, it makes you feel his rush and drive to get better as fast as possible, and it shows how quickly time can fly when you attempt to dedicate every moment of your existence to being great at something. His relationships and life outside of music are not fleshed out for the viewer to see because for andrew himself they aren’t fleshed out. He doesn’t have time to with the demand that working to actually be the greatest requires. This goal takes all of his time, and so music is all we see. The dynamic between Fletcher and Andrew is also awesome. It’s super engaging watching Fletcher actively try to sabotage and piss off andrew to push him to be better and see how far he’s willing to go for this. The acting in this is great, the music is great, the editing is great, and the pacing is great. Big fan.
