mid90s
i know a lot of people don’t like this movie or view it as problematic in some way but honestly, that is exactly why i like it. it’s messy, sad, and inappropriate but that’s what makes it so real. the embarrassing parts are my favorites of the movie, especially the parts showing fuckshit’s substance issues. the film doesn’t romanticize or glorify them in any way; in fact it makes it look like hell, which it is. the film isn’t total D.A.R.E.-esque propaganda but rather shows a personal and shameful side of addiction that i feel that’s so important to portray in a film with the demographic mid90s has.
