Scarface

This is not a perfect movie, but it is a 5 star for me, mainly because, even if some people glorify the life of “glamour” showed in the film, it is painfully clear that this is a cautionary tale, both from the dangers of hedonism and male ego. Unfortunately, this film suffers the same fate as movies like the wolf of wall street or american psycho , where the protagonist is clearly meant to be a joke and a satire on the characterization of the big powerful man. If you come out of one of those saying “ i want to be like that guy.” it says more about you than it says about the film, because me personally, i don’t wanna be a wife beating coke addict who feels entitled to own the world, and i think the film makes perfectly clear that we as an audience should despise tony. So yeah, great film, wonderfully directed by Depalma, gorgeous cinematography, and a very clear warning against the glorification of this lifestyle.
