Sentimental Value
I was not expecting to enjoy this movie as much as I did. The movie was a bit slow paced but I feel like that just allows you to really connect with the characters and make you feel like you're really a part of the family. I loved how they personified the house and used it as a recurring motif and a way to familiarise the audience with the family history, showing its cracks, messiness and intricacies (like the gap in the fence) and overall creating emotional depth. Another thing I loved was also how some shots had been used to confuse between art and reality showing how some members of the family like the dad and the daughter would use art as a way to navigate their feelings whether it was to hinder expression or to embrace it also a create way to explore their layered dynamic. and the CHARACTERS are so well developed and the actors did such a great job playing them, but one of my favourite part of this film is the sisters relationship so freaking wholesome. OMG and the ending was perfect, the music was a perfect choice I loved loved loved this movie I already wanna rewatch it. 😢😢😢😢
