Ok wow hello. This was perfection to me… I very commonly find movies that I adore the aesthetics of but this movie felt like it was made with me in mind. The GLOW is constant and so so dreamy,, the over exposure making the views through windows just white blurs. Most of the settings are “empty” but the soft glow just makes all the difference! And the settings that felt more crowded were darker and had lots of details throughout :)) I wish I could add photos to reviews just to show how beautiful Yoru’s room was, I loved all of the gothic touches (I’m so jealous of that canopy bed!!) There were lots of aspects of this movie that felt reminiscent of some video games to me! Fatal Frame, Cineris Somnia, and even The Path!! Mostly because of some of the settings decorated with a dreamy glow, but other details too, one being the use of a digicam ˖°📷༘ Though the movie is a murder-mystery of sorts it felt very calming to watch :> I love the twist put on the genre being that they’re fascinated with “darkness and death”. It really brings a different feel to movie that I enjoyed. I have to talk about Yoru’s character,, I adored her oh so much ❤︎ She reminded me of myself in ways,, how shy & reserved she was but she talked to Itsuki because of their shared interests :,)) I loved her long black hair & dark outfit (even though technically a school uniform) contrasted with the soft green throughout this film! The final scene was one of my favorites with how her outfit contrasted with the set! She’s so beautiful & stood out so much to me even being kept to herself <3 I could totally write so much more about this movie but I don’t want to drag on :,) it’s safe to say that I adored this movie though, it inspired me in lots of ways! P.S. the teacher is so gorgeous xoxo

Argento round 2, and he did not disappoint! Yet again with the rich, vibrant colors… I feel like it’s what he’s known for! Of course the red and blue were very prominent in this film, but the green was a good touch too! Not only the lighting, the sets were marvelous. The crushed blue velvet walls oh my 💙 I love that this was set in a ballet school but I do wish we saw just a lil more ballet dancing :,) the outfits & hairstyles were so cute ! I loved the music too, it does such a good job at evoking emotions and feeling like you’re experiencing the horror as well (especially that pool scene wowee). I loved the scene where Suzy was in the car, made me feel nostalgic again for whatever reason :)) Overall lovely film!! I can’t wait to explore this director more ♡♡♡

Yet again logging a movie and realizing I have so many of the directors films in my watchlist… but this is my first Sion Sono movie & definitely not my last ! I love the unique twist this movie puts on body horror, I haven’t heard of anything like it! Makes me very inspired to search for more creativity like it :)) Honestly this was lowkey wholesome & cute besides the whole horror storyline… the outfits and hairstyles are soo adorable, I love the mix & match layering! I fell in love with Yûko and her journey and it made me feel so bittersweet ending the movie not knowing what would come next :,) I grew very fond of some of the characters in her life as well! I don’t have much experience with children characters in horror movies but I think Mami’s actress was superb in this performance (felt very maternal towards her ❤︎) !! I’ve seen lots of photos of photos of Chiaki Kuriyama before due to her iconic role in Kill Bill, but this is the first movie I’ve seen of hers! Her haircut/style is so so beautiful and so far from what I’ve seen it seems to be similar to that in tons of her films!! I thought she was so great though and can’t wait to explore more of her work :>
