A confusing movie that is still fun or interesting is one thing; I don't mind reading around to figure out what I just wasn't understanding. Hexing is confusing and boring and honestly, not well made. There is a terrible frame story with the worst acting in the entire film that doesn't have any purpose other than adding an extra ten minutes to the runtime. The movie is all about a Ouija board (although they call it something else) and when we see it, it looks like a blank rectangular serving tray because it's all blurred out. It looked like a home made "Spirit Board", so I'm not sure how it could be a copyright issue, but it was kind of hilarious how they went out of their way to not show the board, even when they were using it. They'll be moving the planchet, but it's shot so that we only see their shoulders and up and one guy is just writing down the letters that we are left to assume the planchet stops on. It's also pretty funny that a bulk of the film takes place in a restaurant where everyone only orders "a coffee" or "cake" with no adjectives. I'm left to assume it's a coffee shop, but no one orders anything other than "a coffee", no flavors, sizes, specialties, no question of cream or sugar.
