Salem's Lot
This was absolutely terrible. You can tell it's a made for TV movie (technically a 2 part mini-series), by how awful the acting is, how laughably bad the effects are (like they are so bad they literally made me laugh), and how absolutely nothing is scary and none of the action happens on screen. We don't see a single vampire bite, instead they'll get close to the neck and freeze frame until the commercial break. So much of the story is missing and it's like the screen-writer read the book 30 years ago and just wrote the bits that he remembered (which excludes a lot of the big, tent-pole scenes) and fudged the rest. If you read the book, it's a terribly cast abomination. If you haven't, it's a piss poor take on a vampire movie that is obviously neutered by having to be suitable for network TV. It's three hours long and every single minute of it drags until the ending which is so rushed that it's hard to believe that they managed to waste 180 minutes without telling a satisfying story. It sounds like a bunch of people watched this when they were dumbass kids and hold it in reverent nostalgia, but for anyone else, this movie fucking sucks.
