Excellent adaptation. Best of Matt Damon. Agamemnon might be the most aura farming character i’ve ever seen, just non stop looming everywhere looking wicked as fuck. Soundtrack will win the oscar frfr. Cyclops was terrifying. Unbelievable film, pretty much perfect. Fine i’ll fork out £20 to go see it again in IMAX.

One of very few films that convey a sound message in both its obvious form and when read between the lines. It’s a story about how prison systems don’t work, and how dehumanising and profiting off people hard done by circumstance, fear, or illness is so far removed from anything that could be considered as rehabilitation. It’s also a story that can apply to any situation in which someone can feel trapped. You can find freedom through hope even when imprisoned by fear. It also does this without being preachy or jarring. Imo deserves (most of) the hype as its messaging, although simple, is very well executed. The cinematography is perfectly done (really like how the composition of each shot mirrors the sense freedom characters feel). Score is wicked. Acting was very good across the board. Not the best of all time that’s for sure. But a very great film.

Thousand yard stare inducing film. The best execution of a twist i’ve seen. Perfect acting. Radiohead told me what to expect, and i still didn’t expect it.

Builds on everything the first did perfectly. Would’ve been perfect in the cinema. Black and white scenes were so insanely hard.
