Wolfwalkers

Yeah no, I’m done. I watched this right after I watched song of the sea and life has never felt like this. This movie exceeds everything I ever thought was possible in animation. Every single frame could be a painting and I’ve never seen hand-drawn animation feel so alive and immersive. The way these pictures move is so seamless and still unlike anything else. When you start looking closer at how the characters are drawn, you can see the original guidelines, they didn’t try to hide. So while everything about the animation and the movement is perfect, the perspectives and changes of the style really just play into it even more. I can’t even imagine how much work must’ve ran into making this masterpiece. Of course the visual aspect wasn’t all though. The strorytelling in this movie is unbelievable and it is so incredibly written. And just the fantastic idea of becoming a wolf when you sleep, while being so simple, really did something to me while watching this. I’m still in absolute shock and disbelief but if you have not seen this, see it.
