I always preferred DC to Marvel, but then again, I'm not a superhero fan either. This pleasantly surprised me by how good it was. The film feels more like a thriller than a superhero movie and was extremely well shot. I can say with full confidence that this is the best superhero movie ever made. My only main criticism of the film is Patrick Bateman's Batman voice, and I'd have to agree with some people that it sounded like he had a sore throat. Other than that is was a great film. I honestly wasn't the biggest fan of this movie. It's just simply not my type of thing. The whole toxic mother and daughter relationship and constant arguing, I just don't find that interesting, but I can see why lots of people enjoy this film. The acting in this was great, and the tension throughout the film was amazing, but ultimately, this just wasn't my thing, so I just didn't really enjoy it all that much. It was still a good movie nonetheless. (6th film)

I do love a good prison movie, and this is no exception. What makes it so great is that it's based on a true story, and even more interestingly, they cast one of the real prisoners involved in the escape. It focuses on all the steps it took to escape, more than most prison films and really shows the hard labour required to break out. It also portrays the new inmate's betrayal very well. This is a fantastic film that I highly recommend. (5th film)

Ran is a great example of why I love Akira Kurosawa's films. He knows that a film isn't just about a great story, but also about great visuals, and this film really highlights both of those things. This film shows Hidetora's descent into madness after giving his power to his three sons. It is a film filled with fighting and betrayal, all while delivering beautiful cinematography that makes it a visual masterpiece. Truly one of Kurosawa's greatest films. (4th film)
