The Master

I think I need to sit on this one for a bit. I’m not going to pretend that I’m smart enough to discuss all the meaning buried in this film but what I can say is that it made me feel a certain way. There’s a trance like quality to this movie which I will accredit to the subject matter, the sensational performances, and the mesmerizing score. Philip Seymour Hoffman is mesmerizing to watch while his counterpart Joaquin Phoenix is deeply troubling and unsettling. I have a feeling this one will stick with me for a while as I try to contextualize the journey this movie takes you on.
