“*i’ll be brave.” * simultaneously heartbreaking and healing, at its core hamnet is a visceral film. it doesn’t just pull at your heartstrings, it completely rips your heart out before placing it back where it belongs with a renewed sense of hope. as someone who just discovered jessie buckley last year and quickly became a big fan, i can definitely say that she gives the performance of a lifetime in this. she deserves every single award that comes her way this season. paul mescal, emily watson, the jupe brothers and the rest of the cast perfectly compliment each other and bring the film to even greater emotional heights. emily watson’s short monologue really got me and just thinking about jacobi jupe’s performance makes me tear up.
