The long camera work create a very raw experience, making viewers feel the cold and the struggle for survival. That Horse skin scene from Leonardo Di caprio is definitely Oscar winning and it shows the level of determination one has to live even if he/she is in the door of death. Tom Hardy also gives a compelling performance as John Fitzgerald, the antagonist, adding depth to the story's conflict . We can say that he was the realest man who can do anything just for himself. The film's themes of endurance, revenge, and the human spirit are explored through intense sequences.
