Kill Bill: Vol. 1
That woman deserves her revenge.
A simple concept that oozes with creativity. What seems like your average revenge story is injected with so much intrigue and visual style by Tarantino, who seems like he had an absolute blast with this film. While watching you get the sense that he wrote and directed this however he wanted, with wild choices with the editing, plot structure, and camera angles. That whimsy is in every scene, with blood, animation, and flashing lights in places that seem over the top, it’s just as much fun to watch as it was for him to make.
Something that I find so cool about this film is the Femme Fatal protagonist. Played by perfection by Uma Thurman, her character is so engaging from the very first scene. I hate being cliche but this really is one of those movies that would’ve gotten labeled as woke if it came out today.
From the amazing score to the flawless pacing, Kill Bill, is a masterpiece. I hope Volume 2 can keep this up.
And finally, this movie is just so damn sick. It’s cool and slick and all around makes you want to say wow the whole time.
