There Will Be Blood
“I have a competition in me. I want no one else to succeed. I hate most people.“
My PTA curse is finally broken!!
I went into this expecting to hate in for some reason. I haven’t been a huge fan of the PTA movies I’ve seen and a 2.5 hour period drama about an “oil man” doesn’t seem very exciting.
But I couldn’t have been more wrong. Not only is There Will Be Blood exciting, but it made me so invested. From Daniel’s family & buisness dynamics, to the religious themes, to the extent of what we’re willing to do for profit, I found this entire film stunning. Which is also enhanced by the beautiful cinematography and direction.
Everyone knows that Daniel Day gives an all-time performance in this, but Paul Dano absolutely crushes it as well. And it’s so upsetting seeing the Academy just completely ignore him again.
And speaking of the Academy…There Will Be Blood >>>>> No Country For Old Men
