Sinners

Innovative movie. Was very skeptical about how they would execute it after reading the description, but they pulled it off. I really liked how suspenseful it was. The metaphor was really nuanced and well thought out as well. Tons of symbolism and foreshadowing too.  Also the music was unreal and complemented the movie so well. Just thought of this interp: When Sammie smashes the guitar on the Irish vampire, it would be effective because it was holy water because the guitar/power of music made the water holy. This shows music is not inherently evil and can be a pathway to God. This is why Sammie became a musician. He see the true value and recognizes that his dad’s view of music was wrong as it does have redeeming features. Just a thought which added a lot to my experience and appreciation of the movie
