“i know it’s pretty colourful but that’s just so people know we’re good” david corenswet might be one of the best things that ever happened to superhero media. i kinda liked this movie. it was okay. i can see why many people didn’t like it but the hate this movie went through during its release is blown way out of proportion. the movie doesn’t start off well, nothing really happens to hook you from the get go. also the way cuts are used in the first 20-30 mins is weird, there are random cuts placed that just break the immersion. the story needed a little more sauce if you know what i mean. i haven’t read the comic this movie is based on so i can’t say for the comic but it felt like they held back on a lot of things. mily alcock is brilliant as kara. she brings the depth to a depressing character that was much needed in this. she is definitely the stand out as should be. jason momoa is born to play lobo no matter what anyone says. he doesn’t get to do much in this movie but i can see what all he can do going forward with this role. everyone else was pretty meh. everything else needed more work. SHOULDVE WORKED ON THE SCRIPT MORE THIS TIME. also one thing i heard people complaining about were the needle drops and my god i can agree, you don’t need these many needle drops. the final needle drop song was pretty mid, i for sure can say james gunn didn’t choose it. if there weren’t more needle drops, the final one could’ve worked much better. should’ve been better but still okay enough.
