undertone isnt a horror movie that you watched, this is actually a unique, slow burn auditory horror that creeps up on you in the middle of the night. As you might expect, A24 Studio always delivers yet another creative and original project. They prioritize the director’s vision over commercial premises. And undertone is one of those artistic and low budget movies im talking about. Claustrophobic i must say, set in a single location with a very limited cast (yup, another one-location movie). Even tho it sounds striking, i personally found undertone quite boring with the childish creepypasta stuff going on. It felt like a plot written by a 9 year-old. Ridiculously obvious that this movie was heavily inspired by 2020s digital culture. Not necessarily mean it was bad tho. Its just that kind of stuff doesnt really work on me. still, i can see this might be a gem for other people out there. What an atmospheric and depressing movie. The cinematography leans more into tight framing and dim lighting that makes it less striking. But i guess it was intentional since the director wanted it to rely more on mood and atmosphere than visuals. The slow rotating camera movements are so loved by me lol. It always subtly gives the feeling that something is off.

i hate rich people too grace
