A Complete Unknown
I’m moved by the people in and surrounding it more than the movie itself to be honest.
Within the context of Timothee Chalamets career and the ambition that he has recently announced to the world, this performance as Bob Dylan is really emotional. Seeing someone so passionate about what they do and actualising that passion is really inspirational and “struck me down”.
The supporting cast were all exceptional, no exceptions.
This felt like a passing of the torch from Edward Norton to the new generation including Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro.
The move was pretty as well. They loved a good spotlight and every time I think it was used amazingly. You could see that Bob was like a deer in the headlights of fame and that the way forward was blinding and uncertain.
I’ve seen some people say the stakes weren’t very high. Folk musics biggest artist disestablishing its biggest stage seems significant enough to me.
Would definitely reccomend this movie to everyone.
