Taxi Driver
Glad I finally got around to watching this.
Genuinely one of the most fantastic movies I’ve seen from a production standpoint— the cinematography and direction do so much visually to convey Travis’s alienation, declining sanity, and disgust, with the score further adding to the themes of urban decay in the story. Robert De Niro is an amazing actor, he perfectly portrays Travis’s clear mental issues while still making you dislike him for the most part and not excuse his disturbed actions as a result of the problems he has. The middle third of the movie is somewhat boring and the thing overall is depressing and bleak, but that’s probably all on purpose. Peak asf, Martin Scorsese goated fr.
