A Complete Unknown
“How fast can we get him out of here?”
“Like he was never here.”
“Not that fast.”
I was terrified while watching this with my parents that they would find my recommendation boring and then The Times They Are A-Changin’ happened (“come mothers and fathers through the land and don’t criticize what you can’t understand…”) and I actually burst out in tears. Not a comparable situation to the historic movement that was happening but a testament of how inmortal his lyrics are.
Only two critiques at the moment:
1. Some very distracting lip fillers and tip plasty.
2. That “Johnny Cash handing the guitar scene” could’ve been top tier if they put Pete and Toshi in the frame, maybe even a poster of young(er) Bob in the background, giving the audience this shot of reason why Bob went back to perform what was expected of him. Was it Joan? Was it Johnny? Pete and Toshi? His younger self’s memory? Would’ve loved to see that idk.
Also that early “My friend John and Paul…” caught me so off guard I don’t play about those kids. Didn’t appreciate the dismissive comment either but oh well, prestigious snobs “deep” people ig. Rip George Harrison you would’ve loved to see Bob Dylan up close without hiding in the bushes.
