the score for this movie was so tea that it managed to stress me out even more than i already wasaaaand the last hour was phenomenal

love how owen and ben snuck in their leftover zoolander nachos at the end there u fr can’t beat their on-screen chemistry

this gave me the sudden crazy urge to play the barbie horse adventures game and cry hysterically i just spent half an hour word vomiting all the things this movie made me feel, so i’ll just copy paste that here, because this was genuinely an amazing piece of queer media, done tastefully and with so much heart i know this is fictional, but it really makes you think about the millions of queer people having lived and STILL living in a society that does not allow them to basically exist and love freely gorgeous acting, gorgeous scenery and cinematography. what i loved is that you can clearly see so much justified emotional baggage behind these characters. you can 100% empathize with them while also acknowledging how truly flawed they are, both in the way they treat themselves, and in the way they treat others while trying to pursue a relationship that they truly deserveone was ready to leave behind the good life he led for his one true love, while the other’s circumstances and deeply rooted trauma did not allow him to avoid his internalized shame about his true feelings, meaning he kept everything pent up till the very last time those two met and even beyond that to a certain extent. one was ready to sacrifice everything, wanting to share his life with his favorite person (without seeing the kind of risk that would actually entail) but being rejected out of fear of public shame and scrutiny, while the other yearned so deeply but also did not allow himself to yearn enough. in the end ennis’ coping mechanism ended up being self destructive and it fucking SUCKED to see.i actually don’t even know how else to say how much of a masterpiece this movie was, and it genuinely and profoundly impacted me, and also obviously got the waterworks flowingmasterclass acting, the love and lust was 100% felt, they both deserved happiness alongside each other, and it should be a crime to be shamed, persecuted and killed for simply loving another person. not only that but to make such a public joke about this film when it embodies a beautiful but tragic love story is genuinely diabolical jake and heath/ jack and ennis you are so loved (by me) and i hope that in a perfect world where money and debt did not ruin your life and your sexual orientation did not define whether you deserved to exist, you got to live the ranch life that you both wanted together

adding this one to the list of my sobbing sessions andrew garfield movies were the reason of nothing else i can say other than i wish i could experience watching this again for the first time, i hope jonathan knows he actually did make it after all </3
