Incendies
I think I’m going to see the whole Denis Villeneuve’s filmography.
I wasn’t expecting this. I don’t even know what to say about the movie. The story is told, filmed and organised in a beautiful yet atrocious way.
The most difficult scenes to watch are so natural and scripted in a way that is so real that it is hard to believe that humans are capable of such awful things while being so calm about it.
The plot twist is really well handled, Jeanne’s mathematic realisation gives chills and the scene in the pool after is all we need to understand everything.
And “incendies” for the thing that changed Nawal and led her to what her life is at the end of the movie…
