A Sophia Coppola movie for the male gaze (it’s worth noting this came out before bling ring) Maybe the most a movie has ever tapped in to the cultural zeitgeist of the current moment. The world needs to collectively piss on dubstep’s grave. We need to start drinking Hennessy again. I can’t believe I forgot about the freaky ass ATL Twins. Alien was just a manic pixie dream boy. The cinematographer absolutely snapped. Gucci Mane is a phenomenal movie villain. Imagine if they cast Danny McBride for Alien. Faith got around black people and immediately started acting spicious. Gen Z may have yearned for Y2K but Swag Era nostalgia might hit them like the crack epidemic. The Brittney Spears - Every Time sequence is right up there with the opening scene from Belly. Honestly I think there’s so much more to this movie than it gets credit for. If the plot didn’t drag in Act 2 (it becomes way too centered on Alien) and it weren’t James Franco then I think it’d would be one of the best movies of the 2010s. Spring Break forever bitches & as always: James Franco is a creep.
