ending spoilers in the last (4th) paragraph I really didnt know what to expect going into this because the trailer seemed kinda drama-thriller esc and amc had it listed as a comedy so i was pretty lost and just hoping for something good. It is a fan-fucking-tastic representation of psychosis and what staying in an echo chamber can do to someone while making you feel a sort of sympathy for them but at the same time it keeps you on the edge of your seat seeing a woman pleading to be let go from her captors without losing you anywhere along the way. Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons fucking ruled in this. There have been some fantastic performances this year but i think these two take the cake for me. They were absolutely phenomenal and i have nothing else to say except, i think these two take buzzcut hairstyle was actually made for Emma Stone, no one on earth has ever buzzcutted the way she buzzcutted in this movie. I loved the shot direction, the color grading was great and holy fuck dont get me started on the score, this film does everything perfectly.   Also about 1/4 of the way through i thought to myself 'wouldnt it be so funny if this WASNT just a commentary about stuff and she was actually an alien' and boy do i feel silly now
