District 9

This is quite possibly the best film to come out of South Africa. Well paced and well shot. The acting is great and the CGI was far ahead of its time. Love how realistic it is as humans would probably box up any alien species and just leave them especially if they refuse to integrate which to be honest is what they should do. The final scene of him fully transformed making scrap flowers for his wife is hauntingly beautiful. Wish this got a sequel as well but I heard that got shelved.
