mother!

There is nothing and there will never be anything like mother! I actually finished this yesterday but was too tired to log it.  This film is really fantastic and suspenseful and disturbing and everything else. From the start you just know something is wrong and something is happening. The film does a trick on you though, the 1st hour or more is really peaceful and delicate and only the end turns really crazy and fast and you sit there and can’t believe that this just happened.  The film deals with topics like nothing being ever enough for us human beings, the difficulties of being pregnant or being a mother, the fear of saying something out loud, the overly fanatical religions and the craziness and dangers behind them.  This film has 2 phases i’d say: one about the strange family that just comes to the house which is not theirs and start creating chaos. After they disappear everything is peaceful and perfect again and the house and the “Mother” and her husband heal . In the second phase the husband writes something and people become over fanatic and break in to their house and form sort of a cult/religion, that the husband becomes obsessed with and is even ready to sacrifice his own baby to them an letting them hurt it and eat it. After the Mother burns down the house with all the religion and war. But, everyone else dies except her husband. I think that’s because he becomes somehow holy. That can be seen when he comes out of the ashes all clean and without any marks holding her wife all burnt and nearly dead. The comes the loop plot twist that ties everything in the start and end together and makes you think like WTF. The filming style is also really unique and helps to build the atmosphere. The peaceful colours just bring some sort of innocence and comfort, which cannot be trusted tho… I replied like how the camera always focuses on the face of Mother and makes her the center of everything. Really cool and beautiful. Makes you emotionally so attached too…. Overall REALLY good and everyone should watch it.
