Yes this is my second time seeing it in the same week when it doesn’t even officially release until tomorrow. Genuinely a perfect adaptation because they actually stuck to the book. Obviously the movie cut out most of the scientific explanations of stuff, but it made up for it with great cinematography and characters. The pacing was great, the jokes were funny, and the dramatic scenes were dramatic. The scene when they are gathering the petrova sample was so beautiful, and the ending was great. I especially liked how they added a short sequence with the taumoeba reaching Earth, as that wasn’t in the book. The only thing I would’ve wanted to see more of was Grace’s reaction to how he got forced into the Hail Mary, as it felt they kinda glossed over it and said oh well, even though it was a pretty huge plot twist in the book. But overall amaze amaze amaze movie, brought the book to life perfectly, and go watch this in imax on the biggest screen you can or you’ll regret it later.

Yay imax re-release

Peak cinema 👎👎
