very cool lesbians the minimalist outlook on dialogue soothes me, the really pretty shots conveying what the characters need to without speech is something i don’t see often and totally adore. there’s definitely a little less to unpack here compared to other films i’ve given five stars, you’ll find a pretty simple but satisfyingly told story with some interesting themes of being uncertain about your future among isolation and the repetitiveness living in a small town plus some other stuff i’d imagine. there are also some deeply sad parts in here and it shows how being with someone doesn’t automatically fix that part of you that feels weird. a great simple watch that might take a little bit too long to get to places, but it definitely takes the scenic route!! really smart title, the use of the blue and cool colours to communicate kayakos mood and view of the world is a very smart technique, combos perfectly with the intentional shots. great/10
