Parasite
I’ll never forgive y’all for ever putting this movie in the same room as a cinematic aesthetic shitstain like Saltburn.
Ari Aster once said about Edward Yang’s A Brighter Summer Say, “I don’t know how you watch it without becoming convinced that you’re watching the greatest movie ever made.” I think the same goes for Parasite. A screenplay that takes its time to craft a world so reflective it’s aggravating. Twists with such purpose and calculation, watching it feels like it was meant to be. The kind of movie that seems to have been discovered as opposed to made, because thinking about a man writing a film this airtight breeds insecurity.
I really like it.
