Hamnet
Jessie Buckley is a fucking powerhouse in this film.
Her alongside Jacobi carried this film on their backs up to the end. Give that kid some awards please.
Some of the best performances of 2025 in my opinion.
This being a slowburn is absolutely perfect. The pacing lets you take in all of the beautiful moments with the characters and then it hits you right in the gut in the second act. I don't remember the last time a film made me care this much for characters.
What a phenomenal score as well.
Additionally,
I went to see this alone and I was able to observe the strangers around me slowly being brought to tears. When the credits rolled, not one person stood up for like 5 minutes. It reminded me how important cinema is and how it connects us all. Nicole Kidman was right, we do come to this place for magic. 🙏🙏
Such a moving piece.
