The Florida Project
So brutally honest that it hurts. Takes the concepts of American Honey and improves on them in every way imaginable. I have never seen a better portrayal of modern day poverty in America than this. The kids in the movie are annoying because of course they are, they’re kids. Moonees mother is a piece of shit because of course she is, this is set in Florida. But does she care about her child? I like to think so. Does this movie make you feel every emotion imaginable? 100%. Oh yeah and this is the defining role of William Dafoes career. I loved Bobby. He perfectly portrays a good guy who is just doing his job while showing compassion for the people in his motel. I just wish there was more of him but he’s not the purpose of this movie. We see this through Moonees eyes and sometimes when she’s out just doing her thing you forgot about the situation she’s in and that’s nice. Phenomenal movie with a PERFECT ending. I haven’t seen a more fitting ending to a film in a long time. Bobby spin off film when Sean Baker? I know you’re on here.
