La Haine

Even in the worst moments, people tell themselves, "It's fine, it's all good for now," just to keep going, only that does not exclude the possibility of even worse things happening. For me, this film is about self-destruction, a fucked-up system, rebellion, and a society crumbling into chaos. Abuse of power creates the very violence it claims to fight, turning a kid who learned his lesson into "another dead thug" and a kid who always knew better into "another cop-killing monster."
