Fury
a perfect war movie. the cast is absolutely stacked, and the acting is amazing from each and every solider. the cinematography is gritty, immersive, and powerful, saying many things with a singular shot. the dynamic of the main characters, known collectively as the crew of the fury, are a family basically made by war. they share an unspoken bond and collective trauma which makes the team feel so much more real. fury shows how war forces individuals to commit atrocities and become desensitized, through norman’s character. the themes of this film are so important, focusing a little less on grand strategy and more on the intense human bonds, compromises, and psychological toll war inflicts on everyone, including innocent civilians. its authenticity, shown through real tanks and rigorous training, sets it apart from other films, showcasing war as "hell" rather than glorious adventure. a must-see if you liked saving private ryan, 1917, and watched or read all quiet on the western front.
