Sentimental Value
This film reflects my eldest sister’s childhood, a childhood shaped by my parents’ divorce and by nights filled with arguments that never seemed to end. The noise was so constant that she once believed the only way it would stop was if they left us… or disappeared entirely from this world. After the divorce, she became more than just a sister. She taught us how to take care of ourselves, how to grow up, and how to survive. And quietly stepping into the role of a mother before she ever had the chance to be a child herself. Last But Not Least, She is the reason I fell in love with movies. Every weekend, we would have movie nights together, and in those moments, the world felt softer, safer.
She is the best sister I could ever wish for. I wish I could tell her how grateful I am.
As the film says "We didn’t have the same childhood. I had you. "
