To live is to love is to cry is to hate is to grief and sometimes ... to laugh.
To be a parent doesn't have to mean to be always there (but often enough more is warranted) but it's to always be with them in spirit. To carry them for as long as you live and leave them with something. It being the other way around is the cruelty of nature. It feels like a natural order neglected. And when in those times one parent is left alone in this, not even having the comfort of the presence of their partner has the potential to destroy even that relationship. It is only when they reaise that grieving happened, but not in a way that is expected but in way that is rare. Shared with the world for centuries to come and in that giving one parent a chance to process it for good and the other to be there for them. And with them.
