Wicked

Not very familiar with the musical (only know surface-level things) but familiar with the original source material, etc etc… but this was such an entertaining, whimsical and fun musical adaption! The colors and costumes were dazzling, the musical numbers were bombastic and the cast was great - Ariana Grande (bubbly and funny) and Cynthia Erivo (who is NOT too old to play her character like that one Oscar voter claims) are captivating leads, and loved the support from Jonathan Bailey and Michelle Yeoh (never thought I’d have beef with a character she plays because she has such a nurturing spirit but here we are). Only gripe is that the lighting can often be so bright that it can give Stevie Wonder new eyes to see again. Nonetheless, a fun time to be had… looking forward to what happens in part two.
