Aftersun
kinda familiar if you’re a child of divorce or a single parent. Aftersun is charlotte wells debut movie. The scottish filmmaker was inspired by her real holiday with her father. Aftersun perfectly takes summer on screen and it’s a perfect portrait of what life as a single parent really is, hard and definitely challenging. Wells did great showing us that life is a mingling of love and pain, even if it’s just for a little while.
Cast did great. mescal’s performance is astonishing as usual and it is corio’s first gig. She nailed it even tho she was only 12 back then! she’s talented and i expect her to be hollywood’s next star. Photography is perfect and colors just feel like summer. Aftersun reminds of a warm summer evening back in childhood days.
